Zahir Panjeta

Zahir Panjeta

Zahir Panjeta was the hero of the defense of Sarajevo from the Serbian aggressor during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina 1991-1995.
He was Commander of the First Battalion of the First Celebrated Motorized Brigade. He died in the heroic defense of the city of Sarajevo, on July 27, 1993 during the fiercest battle for the hill Žuč defense.
Zahir Panjeta was posthumously awarded with "the Golden Lilies" Award.
In civilian lives peaceful, always optimistic, with a disarming smile and always ready to help, in a war lion-hearted and trustworthy: he was an example of a fighter who behaved humane towards the enemy and honored all the rules of the Geneva Convention of War.

Rest in peace, dear friend!
